This guide now covers the latest Garmin releases, including the Fenix 9 and Fenix 9 Pro (August 2026), the Forerunner 70 and 170 (May 2026), and the Forerunner 970, Forerunner 570, Venu 4, Vivoactive 6, Fenix 8 Pro, Tactix 8 and Instinct 3.
Garmin's rugged and premium ranges use the tool-free QuickFit system in three widths. The case size determines the band width, and QuickFit bands are interchangeable across generations of the same size class.

The Forerunner 970 is the first Forerunner to use Garmin's QuickFit system, so it shares 22mm QuickFit bands with the Fenix 9 (47mm), Fenix 8 (47mm), Fenix 7, Fenix 6 and Epix Gen 2 (47mm). Many standard 22mm quick release bands also fit its 22mm lugs. Shop Forerunner 970 bands.
